W.I.T.C.H. redesigns

Like with my Winx redesigns, I mostly browsed the wiki and blended my favorite design elements together lol.

I did end up using more New Power elements in the 1st forms, and the original designs in the 2nd forms. Idk knowing that the girls got to cover up more as they grew up instead of covering up more as kids....not a huge fan.

Overall: Guardians got color-coded wings. I really really like the og wing shapes, but the color-coding feels more classic magical girl to me so. I did use the shoe-less element from the reboot in the 2nd form. Bare feet feels more spiritual/magical imo. I actually like that part of the reboot design! Same with the element icons. 1st forms get more of the urban part of the urban fantasy look. Comfy tennis shoes for all. 2nd form gets gold accessories. 2nd form's main colors are the darker sub colors of the og. 2nd form socks are gradients instead of striped 2 tone. Normal clothes are mostly the og 2000s look. Idk I think that Will's technomancy is less impressive if Siri exists lol.

Elyon: I used Elyon's reboot hair texture. I always thought that between the color and texture of og Elyon's hair that it looked like straw? She's got a "chubby" body. I use "" bc she looks average, but would be considered chubby?

Will: If Disney owns these girls then Will gets a Kermit shirt. Since she's a tomboy, both of her guardian forms get shorts. 1st form gets a hood. Her hair gets some of her mother's waves. Normal hair does the emo hide-the-eye thing: really lean into her angst. In both guardian forms her hair does not change length. The short hair is truly her. Her bangs get the og treatment, and some hair gets tucked behind her left ear. The heart gets absorbed into Will in guardian form: she can still use it, it just isn't physically there in guardian form.

Irma: Dresses like she's an extra on Hannah Montana. It feels right. Her guardian hair gets space buns bc sometimes in her civilian forms she wore them, and I think she looks cute in them. Her 1st form is has heavy insp from Cassidy's guardian form. I just like the top better lol. Since Will lost the og little heart on her skirt, I gave it to Irma. It feels more Irma anyway imo. Irma also gets a chubbier body type.

Taranee: I love og Taranee's civilian form. I love her clothes, I love her hair, I love the hair beads, man og Tarnee's look is so chef's kiss to me. So I really didn't change anything. I have never once in my life understood what in the world og guardian Taranee's hair was supposed to be! In og New Power, she gets dreds, but keeps her 1st form hair too???? Dreds was my only guess as to what those were supposed to be, but with NP's hair having both, I don't think they were dreds??? And they don't look like the way that braids/hair twists are drawn in the comic (og Elyon has hair twists? Or at least I've interpreted that style as twists rather than braids?). So that plus how much I love civilian Taranee's hair, 1st form gets the civilian hair. She looses the beads, but gets a a wrap colored with the gradient of the purple-teal. 2nd form gets braids with gold accessories. I always felt like Taranee's og guardian forms seemed less designed than the others bc there were no swirly designs?? I mean, she gets a small heart on her collar, but that was taken off in the animated series probably for animation reasons. I actually like the triangle cut-out instead of the heart bc of fire's triangle icon, so I used that. I did take the waistline from Cornelia's skirt (my personal favorite waistline) and gave it it her shorts. She gets long sleeves in the 1st form. I just think it looks nicer than the sleeveless look in this design.

Cornelia: Both guardian forms get longer hair. 1st form gets a choker necklace. She looses the long sleeves and gets sleeves. Looking at og Cornelia and Irma's 1st forms, Cornelia's feels like a more elegant version of Irma's, so I wanted to keep that element in a way. Her skirt waistline gets turned to become the hem of the top. Her 2nd form keeps the og collar, but her top is inspired from comic Halinor's 1 sleeve shirt: Cornelia's top is 1 sleeved with a long glove.

Hay Lin: She gets braids in both forms. Like with Irma, sometimes she wears braids in civilian form, and I think it's cute. 2nd form gets two braids combined into a single one in the back, letting the rest of her hair blow free in the wind. She also gets sleeves in both forms for max blowing-in-the-wind factor, plus I wanted at least 2 members to have bell sleeves. 1st form gets NP Irma's top with an edited neckline. 2nd form gets the heart waistline, a lengthened skirt, and a choker necklace. Her civilian form looses the goggles, replaced with purple jelly sunglasses.

Uncle Dracula intervenes for a change. Dred calls a secret meeting just as the Drak Pack are finally on their way to a long-awaited vacation, and Big D decides he’s had quite enough.

This was initially just a dialogue between them that popped into my head so I decided to make a li’l rushed sketch comic of it! XD

What made you pick up this character?

Honestly, I can't remember! I read a few fics with him in the background, and somehow he wormed his way into my heart. I took the fanon of him being Dred Priest's cadet, combined it with his canon personality, Priest's canon personality, and the kind of person I thought would get along with Neyo, and made Faie into what he is now! He's beloved to me even if I'm not really sure how he ended up being the number one star wars guy in my mind.

3. What’s the best thing about the show/series/books/comics/etc.?

Wow there's so much I'm not really sure what to call the best, even if I just focus on IDW. I love comics, so just the fact that they're comics at all is an automatic bonus in my book. I think the best thing about the IDW comics is how deep and realistic every character is. There's so much love and time poured into every character design, and I can empathize with all of them, even the worst ones. No one's acting without motive and everyone's very well-rounded.

Characters are the most important parts of stories to me. If a story's bad, I'll stick with it if it's got good characters. If it's good but the characters suck, I'm gone. I'm very very happy IDW has a great story AND great characters.

9/11, the World Trade Center attacks of 2001, had just occurred.

A young Jawad Hussein, was contemplating the United States Marine Corps, to earn 8 million dollars in a suitcase, and to build his own Golden Palace, for the Sisters Chaplin.

He managed to take a picture, of Saddam Hussein fleeing the city of Baghdad, during the opening days of the War on Terror and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He then allowed him to hide, knowing where he was, using the FOX News journalist team to torment American soldiers, with Family Guy, to "find Saddam Hussein".

When Saddam was captured, he was given an Islamaphobic prison guard.

Saddam, relatives of the King of Jordan and Upton Sinclair, had been allowed a Jewish passage, an extra meal, a Christian passage, a lawyer, but not an Islamic passage, a camel, impossible to fit in his prison.

With the assistance of the lawyer I tried, ace highschool guidance counselor and North Korean loan from the Clinton Administration for just such a purpose, Saddam Hussein faced the world.

Saddam had to prove, as Gohan, of Dragonball Z, that he was Goku, but a CIA agent; not an MI-6 agent, the evil "Freiza", who was in favor of poverty abuse, and a friend to the soccer club; certainly no mental illness reformer, an investigative journalism who makes adaptation comics for us for our own form of Calvinism, David and Goliath, through the Uighurs, the Hussein family's cousin, the Food and Drug Administration; Upton Sinclair.

The entire Middle East, now works for the CIA, on mercenary hire out of gas stations that sell beers; essential to Obama's strategy, "Rutherfraud", removing the Kennedy convenience store taxes that caused this whole issue with a dispute between the Charlebois family, the Canadian intelligence COBRA system of insurance for cops and teachers, from the state, however out of a large desk or filing bin in one central office per municipal federal court, and the Bin Ladens, over the Checkers cigarette, from New Hampshire, being shipped into Canada for a new K-Mart derived convenience store.

Amistad, has been avenged, with Dred Scott.

And Jawad Hussein, now has his briefcase, full of eight million dollars, and his Convent.

So the NCA Comics.

Short answer: I’m putting the series on hold.

Long answer: 3 weeks ago I made the spontaneous decision to make a weekly comic series. Made it over a day and a night, over 2 days then released it. After feeling a bit burned by the process, I focused on other things. Tuesday rolled around I found myself in a similar position as before, but still at least got it out. Now here we are at the 3rd one and I’m started to see a pattern form..

This series has already taught me so much, but I’m finding the process of making these is becoming a bigger focus than I had wanted them to be. It’s something I’m beginning to dred. With my 10 old drawing tablet and using a software not best suited to what I want to make, it’s becoming gruelling.

I’ve really been enjoying making these in hindsight, there’s loads of little things I’m proud of, I will continue the series most definitely.

This spontaneous thought of The NCA Comics came from a desire to learn, so far these comics have been a resounding success from that point.

Though right now this series has become a heavy burden and I want to keep the balance of challenge and fun. I can make it work, just need to figure somethings out 😎

This week's theme: Show, Don't Tell!

(This analysis has some mature humor so be forewarned!)

Just gonna whip out my liberal arts degree for a second: if there’s one central metaphor for Star Wars, it’s that the Empire is America. If there’s a secondary metaphor, it’s that lightsabers are penises. Like, as much as Excalibur and Andúril and the Auto 9 and any other thematically rich phallic object are (metaphorical) penises. If you don’t believe me, look at Palpatine’s.

The main way Star Wars contributes to this trope is by connecting the swashbuckling object to fatherhood (in a solemn, thematic way) and puberty (the Jedi get their lightsabers as young teenagers) and even performative identity (“this weapon is your life”). Lightsabers, whatever they symbolize, can be a complex and interesting metaphor, because as much as the aesthetic of the franchise reveres them, the storyline does not: every important lightsaber duel ends with either the villain winning or the hero winning at a terrible price. BDE won’t save you; only learning a painful moral lesson can do that. Compare this to Lord of the Rings, where Aragorn’s sword pretty straightforwardly makes him king.

But one Star Wars property makes the dick metaphor a lot more obvious, and a lot more light-hearted: Henry Gilroy’s strange little comic, “A Jedi’s Weapon.” Though the text of the story tells of a queen who steals Anakin’s lightsaber, the horny imagery shows that the whole thing is an elaborate, heavy-handed dick joke. As a big fan of Anakin, I absolutely love this for him, since giving into sexy temptation after a life of repression is his whole thing.

The most charming part of this comic’s metaphor is when it says, “Make Love Not War!,” which is a radical enough statement here on Earth, but even moreso in the eternally violent-but-chaste galaxy far, far away:

You tell him, girl!!!

Noooooo!!!!

The comic really must be seen to be believed. If you don’t mind getting the ending spoiled, I hid it under the cut with some final thoughts.

Why is your dog staring at me like that

Between commission work and life stuff, I drew more of my starwars Zabrak oc mogo including a mock comic cover and his lightsaber design! If you want more details about him read below! ^^

Mogo is a chimera zabrak being half dathomirian half iridonian, thus the two tones! He's also a dark side user but also training as a jedi because in my shared starwars AU Space opera, the jedi are changing to include all forms of the force rather than just the light, and redefine sith as those using the force for evil whether they’re light or dark side. The dark side is being recognized as not inherently evil slowly but surely, and the light recognized for being able to be recklessly evil in its own ways (chaos vs order; too much of either is bad basically)

Mogo's great grandfather is darth maul due to maul being careless and sleeping around (so kind of an unclaimed family line there), which resulted in his grandfather who wanted to follow maul's lead in the dark side/his cruel ways. His father however rejected it vehemently, wanting to change and be good. While the previous two has no force ability and fought with one another to the point his father killed his grand father, Mogo was born with the force- the dark side of it from maul.

His father became afraid of him because it was clear who he’d gotten his abilities from, and his mother was equally fearful/manipulated to listen to her husband. As a result his parents abandoned him at 5 years old by a fountain in a busy rainy square when he showed 'signs of maul/the sith' before he was found and adopted by my jedi master Jirai Augoma. 

From there he was trained as a jedi, but his new adoptive jedi fathers recognized he was one with the darkside and not the light. seeking to raise him to be good despite this and believing in love/forgoing the old order rules, Jirai become closely attached. His other father Winslow however still followed the old ways and tried to keep distant (miserably failing at it however) until he became distrustful of mogo, having a vision he’d bring horrors and evil.

an unfortunate series of events lead mogo to run away due to the manipulation of the new sith lord, Emperor Null who trained him as a sith- thus his fall from the Jedi. However, as he grew older, Mogo began to hate what he’d become more than anything and is on the path to redemption. having returned to his old home, he’s faced many trials and errors while learning to try and accept that who he is isn’t inherently evil and that he can still learn to do good despite his mistakes.

The light saber pictured is his redemption saber, a dual saber using two crystals- his original jedi crystal (the purple) and his purified bled out sith crystal (the gold). It represents his past/present/future, suffering and triumph as well as his balance of learning and coming to acceptance.

there’s a BUTTLOAD of story this is summarizing because it’s a LOT but the gist is he’s a dark sider, cocky, very stubborn but also regretful and wanting to be better. and he’s gay, goth and trans YEEHAW!

This was one of the first little comic doodles I did when I started watching Drak Pack- I was just kinda figuring out how I wanted to draw them and how they talk... dunno if I'll ever polish it up or anything, but I like to imagine what other shenanigans they'd all get up to, with a longer-running series ( perhaps this one's a bit too dramatic with the injuries and all, haha! ) I had the thought of Dr. Dred talking it up about how cold and callous O.G.R.E. is, they're not soft do-gooders like the Drak Pack! Only to have that immediately be flattened by Toad running in sobbing and worrying about him! XD

Tales Of The Cursed Spy:

TOTCS is a fan based comic of tf2 mercenaries Medic and Spy. It's a somewhat of a collaboration with two artists Mxxxcs and DahNight (on DeviantArt). Not meant to be taken serious in anyway just all for fun. Each induvial comic is from a different experience inspired from in-game experience.
